According to a report by Tim Joyce of WBAL, the USA swimming scandal might even be WORSE than Penn State.

There have already been reported cases of sexual abuse involving USA swimmers and swim coaches, and there are also cases of foreign coaches being charged with dozens of counts of abuse, and then moving to the US without being placed on any "Do not coach" lists.

Add USA Swimming to the list of huge organizations like Penn State and the catholic church that felt that they were too big to fail, and therefore thought it was better to cover up and/or ignore abuse instead of purging it.

Ty Duffy of The Big Lead broke down a few of the various allegations and coverups that have occurred over the past few years, and there are likely more allegations that will surface soon.

If this is as big as it's rumored to be, there could be some serious changes in leadership of Team USA swimming, and some people could be going to jail.

We'll keep you posted as more details emerge, but hopefully this doesn't end up being as bad as it sounds like it could be.

There have been incidents but it's not like USA Swimming is on par with the Catholic Church or even Penn State for that matter.  When a coach has been discovered it has been acted upon.  As far as I know there have been no cover ups save for the perpetrator covering his own rear.
