Terrell Owens And Jason Witten Fight, Have To Be Separated
The Dallas Soap Opera Continues: T.O. And Witten Nearly Fought Each Other Friday
READ MORE:
The Cowboys might as well just end their season now, because it's starting to get completely ridiculous in Dallas. The word on the street today is that Jason Witten and T.O. nearly came to blows in the locker room on Friday after a team meeting.

Here's what the Fort-Worth Star reported on the incident:

According to two sources, the two exchanged words before being separated. Both players acted as if everything was fine when the media was allowed in the locker room. But Owens was still clearly miffed.

Now, what sparked this near brawl, I assume, was the fact that Terrell Owens, Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton met with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett after the Steelers game to express their dissatisfaction with quarterback Tony Romo primarily targeting tight end Jason Witten. It's also been reported that Owens said Romo and Witten specifically design plays that exclude T.O., and that he's jealous of Witten as a result. Well T.O. addressed that story, and here was his hilarious response.

"What do I have to be jealous of?" Owens said. "Look at me, I’m handsome as hell. … Anything that goes on, I am going to be the scapegoat. I’m trying to figure out how I make the headlines and I don’t even say anything."

Right. How on earth is T.O. making all these headlines when he's just trying to throw his whole team under the bus? Can't he just do that in peace?

Although, there are also rumors that T.O. and crew are actually not far off the mark in being pissed off at Witten and Romo. That's because word is that Witten is the one who keeps feeding Werder these negative stories about Owens. According to Pro Football Talk:

The talk in the Cowboys locker room is that Witten was one of the sources for Ed Werder’s recent ESPN item, which has sparked a firestorm within the organization.

Per a league source, center Andre Gurode and receiver Roy Williams called out Witten in a team meeting regarding their belief that he has been talking out of school to Werder, accusing Witten and/or his agent of feeding the information to Werder — as the song “Back Stabbers” played in the background.

The other problem for the Cowboys is that players are also now starting to take shots at the coaching staff as well. Terence Newman recently blamed the Cowboys coaching staff for not taking any blame themselves. Yet another pass the buck moment in the Cowboys locker room. Oh, and Newman also said T.O. needs the ball more.

And last of all, this is all happening because Wade Phillips has no control whatsoever. According to the Dallas Morning News:

The players like him – who wouldn't? – but they don't respect him. Or fear him. And they shouldn't. They do what they want. And say what they want. Repercussions don't exist.

Phillips has no power. Jerry doesn't even bother hiding it anymore. Since Jerry calls all of the shots, why would anyone care what Phillips thinks? Besides, we all know Jason Garrett is going to be the next head coach
.

I tell you, this team is more of a mess than the Lakers were during Shaq's last year in LA. It's literally a trainwreck in Dallas. What's also fantastic about all of this is that Owens seems to have free reign to do what he wants. In San Francisco and Philly, T.O. was a cancer, but not one that really spread. Here in Dallas, he's already got a handful of guys seemingly on his side.

It's going to be a fun last few weeks of the season. I absolutely expect there to be a full scale riot in the Cowboys locker room before the end of the season.

Couldn't happen to a better team, and it is just what the Cowboys deserve, T.O. pulled this mess in San Francisco. Philadelphia and now Dallas. T.O. could be triple covered and still think he is open, In T.O.'s defense though he is playing with a highly over rated QB that has done nothing but choke in the big games

Death, taxes, Terrell Owens making a fool of himself........

Apparently most of the defense is on T.O.'s side in this, which leads me to believe that the team at least believes Romo tries to get the ball too much to Jason Witten.  T.O. apparently had the locker room split in Philly as well.  When he had his birthday party during the dispute there, he had a lot of teammates show up to party with him.

What is so great for me about this is, I am a Cowboys fan and I hate Jerry Jones.  So if they win, great!  If they lose and go down in flames like this, Jerry Jones looks like an idiot (again).  And seeing that makes me almost as happy as when they win.  So really, on a personal level, this is a win-win proposition for me!

I'm waiting for the day someone finally gets tired enough of this act to beat him bloody.  He can hold another press conference with his jaw wired shut and one of his eyes swollen talking about "I LOVE ME SOME ME".  Maybe T.O. opposed that trade to Baltimore because he knew if he pulled his antics in Ray Lewis' locker room he'd be picking his teeth up with a dustbuster.

Y'know.  I almost wish he didn't catch that TD pass from Steve Young in the '98 playoffs.  Maybe he'd still be a humble man.

Witten's on my fantasy team.  I need him to find the end zone at least once this weekend.

I also wish he hadn't caught that TD pass from Steve Young in the '98 playoffs, although probably for different reasons.

The media is making this more of a big deal then what it actually is.

First off, T.O. has a history so the media is going to run with this.  Secondly, at times it does appear that Romo is forcing the ball to Witten, and on top of that he is struggling a bit.  Third, 3 wideouts went to meet privately with their offensive coordinator to talk about this.  Fourth, the team is now split as the defense has taken T.O.'s side.  Finally, T.O. and Witten almost threw punches.  So how is this being overblown?

It is kind of a big deal, because the team kinda has to work together and win the rest of their games if they want to make the playoffs.  This crap that T.O. is pulling isn't helping their case much.

This is the biggest bunch of $hit I ever heard. TO is a GD Baby.  SHut up and play.  Maybe Romo should call out his O-Line because they don't block long enough for him to look at every WR in every play.  Maybe next it will be a racial thing.  I can already see that happening.

The more and more I read about this though, I do believe that Witten and possibly Romo are the ones to blame.  At the very least, T.O. didn't anonymously source a whole report that has divided the team.  Also, T.O. has tried to pretend that nothing is going on when he's around the media.  Witten is pretending that too, but is going behind everyone's back and getting his voice out there and I think he is speaking for Romo as well.  Maybe, just maybe, T.O. has learned from his past.

Me-O hasn't learned a damn thing.  He went and collected Roy Texas Williams and Patrick Crayton and formed a Destiny's Child of diva WR's and went crying to Jason Garrett.  Of course the other WR's sided with him.  WR's are ALWAYS open and ALWAYS want the ball.  The defensive players that piped up wouldn't be saying jack if the Boys hadn't lost to Pittsburgh.

I detest the Cowboys, but Witten is a tough, reliable, and talented football player.  He's never been involved in anything like this before and from what I've seen of him, prefers to be a quiet leader.  T.O.'s ability and athleticism can't be denied, but he's also been among the league leaders in dropped passes the last three years.

Terrell Owens is a grown man with ZERO accountibility.  It's never HIS fault.  It's never Owens that has a bad game.  It's always someone else's fault when they lose.  It's the coordinators that call the wrong plays or the QB for not throwing to him more.  Dallas was his last shot.  After this, no serious contender will ever come near him.  He may go to the Hall of Fame, but he'll never be a champion because he's his own worst enemy.

That's why I didn't think the "suicide attempt that wasn't" wasn't so far-fetched when I heard about it.  Owens is 35 years old, and I do not believe he is married or has any children.  When the cartoon character of T.O. goes home for the night, Terrell Owens is probably a very depressed and lonely man.

While I agree with your assessment of both guys, in this situation, I've yet to really hear anything that T.O. did wrong.  There is yet to be someone to back Witten.  The whole defense is behind T.O. which tells me that Witten is doing something wrong.  To me it sounds like T.O. and Witten have had a bit of a feud going for a while and Witten decided to take advantage of T.O.'s past and anonymously speak with Ed Werder.  It was a classless move by Witten, regardless of whether or not what he said was accurate and in doing so has turned the team against him.

Now, based on T.O.'s history we can probably safely assume he isn't completely right.  Him and Witten have probably had issues and T.O. may be to blame for those.  But, at least publicly, those weren't tearing apart the team.  Now, because of Witten's account of the events to Werder, things have blown up and in view of the public.

Yeah, apparently Witten is doing something wrong.  He's holding onto the ball more often than T.O. when he's thrown to.  Maybe, just maybe, that's the reason Romo wants to throw to Witten more.

Don't worry, the Packers will blow the whole damn thing in week 17.  The Lions will just be another 1-15 team that could have made the courageous dive into history but passed.

We're talking about the same T.O. who led the league in dropped balls in 2006, right?  This is the same T.O. who thinks he's the center of attention, right?  T.O. expects to get every pass, that's what he wants.  When that doesn't happen, he throws a temper tantrum, like he's doing now with this goofy conspiracy theory that Romo and Witten are purposely excluding him.  If that's what he really thinks, I'm sure there's a way it can actually be arranged.

I call reverse racism. The best TE in the game, who I do know along with his family, dealing with a guy who has had problems his entire career? And the rest of the WR judge him and the HC?
Seems pretty simple to me. Wether it deals with race or not, it seems that way to me.
Stay classy Owens. You are both Tennessee guys, no matter how you look at it.

First of all, it's tiresome for people to quickly dump all of this at the feet of Terrell Owens.  He's not the one who went outside of the team with complaints.  Also, he maintains that Jason Garrett, the Offensive Coordinator, called the meeting with the receviers, not the other way around.  Whoever made anonymous comments to the sorry ESPN reporter (Werder) showed himself to be less of a man.  Obviously he had problems with Owens and should have either kept them to himself or addressed them with Owens directly.

The bottom line is that either Owens or other receivers are open a significant number of times that Romo throws to Witten or they are not.  Why can't someone just produce a bit of film analysis to determine which is the case?

It sure does seem that the Cowboys win when Owens makes a big play or two in the game.  What is he supposed to do if he wants to win?  Should he say nothing or perhaps communicate with the coaches about schemes and opportunities?

Hmmm...TO is bull$hit, and for any of this to get turned on Romo is an equal amount of bull$hit.  TO is throwing a titty baby temper tantrum because he is no longer Romo's clutch reciever.  But if TO would look at things objectively, he would realize that this is because he seems to drop as many pass attempts as he catches, where as Whitten has shown that he can catch almost anything thrown his direction, and eat up field in the process.  What would you do if you were Romo?  Throw the ball to a reciever who is a 50/50 proposition to drop the ball, or force a pass in to a reciever (although it may be an ill advised pass) that almost surely will make the catch.  I know my decision would be to throw to the sure handed reciever, and force the defense to make a play rather than throw to a 50/50 proposition and have the reciever make the play for the defense.  I don't wish harm on anyone, but I wish TO would go play in busy traffic (or at the very least get ghonaherpicyphalaids messing around with Jeff Garcia's friends at the gay club).

***DISCLAIMER...that last line was a joke.  Jeff Garcia is clearly not gay, and his wife is one of the hottest women on the planet

Yes, I caught about 3/4 of it. and it should be required viewing for the players to remind them of that point in history that the NFL took it's first steps to becoming what it is today.
