Terrell Owens Could Be Cut By Dallas Cowboys
The Next Cowboys Player To Be Cut Could Be...T.O.?
READ MORE:
2008 was a tough, tough year for the Dallas Cowboys. They were expected to win the Super Bowl, but instead didn't even make the playoffs. Yesterday, because two nightclub-related shootings is one too many, the Cowboys decided to let Pacman Jones go, but it appears that cleaning house could go even further.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting today that the 'Boys have some serious questions to answer for next season, "Like whether to release Terrell Owens because there's not a player or coach on this team with a strong enough personality to bring out the best in him, while limiting his charismatic influence in the locker room."

Just so you know, ESPN's Ed Werder, or as I like to call him, "Mr. Cowboys Man", has also said that T.O. is in jeopardy of being cut.

There are of course good reasons for this. Owens reportedly accused Romo and Jason Witten of schemeing to keep him out of plays, he also got into a fight with Jason Witten, and last but not least, T.O. got Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton to complain with him about the offense to Jason Garrett.

One could certainly make the argument that T.O. needs to be gotten rid of before he poisons this team any further. However, one of the real questions is who they'd turn to at reciever? Roy Williams was completely MIA while in Dallas, and while I realize he didn't get that much time to play with Romo this season, his dreadful performance is still a concern. Patrick Crayton isn't a No. 1 receiver either.

I know that T.O. isn't the best No. 1 in the league by any means, and he may not even be a true No. 1 anymore, since many teams have discovered that he now struggles when jammed at the line. But he is by far the best receiver the 'Boys have, and if they don't replace with someone of equal or better value, Jason Witten might have to catch every pass next season.

It may ultimately come down to money anyway, with Owens set to make a reported $3.1 million next season. That may not seem like a ton of cash, but it may be too much for a 35-year-old receiver who has a history of destroying teams.

Dear Theodore Thompson,

I know this sounds crazy, but sign T.O. to a two year contract.  Give Mr. Rodgers some toys to play with.  You'll win more games.

Sincerely,
Mike

In a strange way I would love to see that, just to see what Singletary would do when the T.O. Shenanigan Bus gets rolling.

This is the most asinine thing ive ever heard. Ed werder is an idiot who reported all three things u have listed in this which all turned out to be false. So ed sayin hes next to be cut is like sayin a snowball could fly through hell without melting.

Um, NOTHING Werder has reported has been proven false.  Also, its hard to believe a team that talented could miss the playoffs without having some locker room  issues.

And where are all of those teams right now?

If that's what you're trying to emulate, then go ahead. Aside from Indy (and I'm not sure where you got that from anyway), all of the teams you mentioned missed the playoffs. If that's where you want the Cowboys to be, then keep TO and the locker room issues.

I felt when they made the trade for Roy Williams (part duex), that it was a prelude for letting TO go.    However, with RW-II not really doing much of anything, that may not be the case.     I say TO going back to Dallas is 50/50, at best.     Maybe they'll trade him & a draft choice(s) to Cincinnati for TJ Housh-your-daddy........wouldn't that be great......TO & Ocho-Cinco ?!?!

Because the Cowboys had no stability at the QB position.

Now here's a question for YOU: If TO is so great for the team, why haven't they won a playoff game since he showed up?

Whatever you gotta do to make the Cowboys suck more than they do now is fine by me.

If it happens I gotta think Dallas trades for Braylon Edwards

Mr. Owens might be asked to restructure his deal and if he refuses he may well be shown the door, Miles Austin and Crayton look like #3 or #4 receivers, this is a pretty solid WR draft though and  Williams should improve with an off-season to settle into the system.

The Cowboys have been dying as low death ever since Jerry fired Jimmy.  This year was the final breath of that illustrious move.  With a coach as exciting as mashed potatoes, and players needing character training, prison terms, and rehab tarnishing the Landry-Johnson legacies of great Cowboy teams, we all need to rethink attending these games in the new stadium.  Why should we pay for these misfits and malcontents?  Get rid of them all, and lets get back to the days when the players didn't criticize the generals.  T.O., Tank, Pacman (who did nto do much eating up of the opposition), can all go to the house.  No respect for anything or anybody.  Has a daughter and goes to a bar with a gun?  Drugs?  Loudmouth?  No, Cowboys, thank you very much.  Where in their development did all this direspect, ill-behavior, and mouthing off come from?
