Terrelle Pryor to start in preseason finale
Matt Flynn has been starting the preseason games and the training ones too but his performance against the Bears put him under questioning. He fumbled with six passes and two interceptions. He was substituted for Pryor who came amidst cheers from the Raiders fans and then brought stability to the field.
Performance had been a problem back in Seattle for Flynn. He lost his spot to Russell Wilson due to tendinitis, which causes inflammation of tendons. When Coach Allen was asked whether the problem was a persistent one, he replied that the problem was a nominal one that was not something to be very concerned about. He added that sitting him out was a precautionary measure and did not mean his condition was serious. “His arm is a little sore right now, so we’re going to rest him and try to get that arm back a little bit.”
Allen thought that Pryor’s performance against the Bears was skillful. He commented that Pryor would play against Seattle and he would get a good chance to analyze his skillset. “I think both of them at times have done some really good things. Both of them have done some things that need improving. That’s really where we’re at with the quarterback position.”
Pryor will get to play and show his skill. In case he impresses Coach Allen, he might start the season. If not selected, Matt Flynn is a ready option. Either way, the Raiders have the spot covered well.
