Former Red Sox manager Terry Francona has reversed his previous decision and says he owes it to the fans to show up on Friday for the Red Sox' celebration marking the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park.Francona had previously declined the invitation, due to the way he was treated after leaving the team. In case you don't remember, someone within the Red Sox organization leaked rumors of him abusing pain pills and being more concerned about his marriage than the team late in the season, while the Sox went through one of the worst months in baseball history.
Apparently things have been patched up enough that Francona can at least show up and acknowledge the thousands of fans, many of whom wish he were still the manager in Boston.
In other anniversary related news, the Yankees will go outside the box a little bit and wear a throwback uniform, which is very rare for them. Here's a look at what they'll be wearing on Friday.

These were the uniforms that the Yankees wore back in April of 1912, when they played the Red Sox in the first ever game at Fenway Park.
Kudos to the Yankees for breaking tradition a bit and helping to honor the home of their biggest rivals.
It's always fun to see teams wear throwback uniforms, and this game should be a treat to watch, with both teams breaking out century-old threads.

Great to hear that Francona will be present. He was at the helm of the Red Sox when the drought was broken.

Nice to see Francona being the bigger man and doing the right thing for the fans. Also nice Yankee uniforms.
