The Buccaneers' new uniforms are apparently a tribute to the Arena Football League
Today, they tweeted out a picture and a link to their new uniforms, and once you put it all together, they're a pretty extreme change.
The Bucs say that it's a nod to both the past and the future. There's definitely a nod to the 'creamsicle' uniforms of the past, and there's definitely also some seriously futuristic features, like the digital-style lettering. Dashes of pewter and red color blocking also come from their past, but more recent past than the creamsicle uniforms.
The pattern on the shoulders is definitely reminiscent of Arena Football uniforms of old, which gave rise to some dissent in the comments section of the Bucs' official statement revealing the uniforms.
Some Bucs fans are less than thrilled with them, and Pro Football Talk even went so far as to call them 'garish.'
What do you think of the Bucs' new uniforms? Would you say they're a bit too much? Or are they a nice nod to both the past and the future of Buccaneers football?
