Sidney who? Remember that guy named Alexander Ovechkin? Remember how he was going to hit 60 goals on the season, but then hit a seven game scoring slump? Well he's back. After breaking that slump against Toronto on 3/1, Ovechkin netted a hat trick in the first period of the Bruins/Capitals game tonight.
Ovechkin becomes that fastest player to 50 goals in 10 years. He currently has 52 goals with 15 games remaining. The last time anyone in the NHL had 60 goals was 12 years ago when Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr both hit the mark. This marks the second season in a row in which Ovechkin has scored 50 goals and may become the first time he scores 60. Stay tuned the rest of the season, because this kid is amazing and brings so much energy every night- the best pure goal scorer in the National Hockey League.
