The Philadelphia Eagles have selected offensive tackle Lane Johnson, tackle from Oklahoma. Johnson is the most athletic offensive lineman in the draft and will fit nicely into Chip Kelly's fast-paced, high-energy offensive philosophy.

The 2012 Eagles again disappointed their fans and ownership, so Kelly was brought in to bring life to a team that gave up a league leading 33 passing TDs last year.  As part of the club’s face lift after their 4-12 season, they parted ways with big names like Nnamdi Asomugha and Cullen Jenkins.

The Eagles still have talented players, especially on the offensive side of the ball, and Kelly is an offensive-minded coach.  Michael Vick had turnover issues last year and adding a talented protector like Johnson to the Eagles offense should give him more time to find open receivers and make plays. The Eagles will score points and if they’re able to be average on defense they will win games and should compete for a playoff spot.

Fun fact about Johnson: he had the same vertical leap at the combine as WR A.J. Green.
