It's the AFL and so much more
Yesterday the team played their first home game, and defeated the Portland Thunder, 44-34, but a lot of that may have been due to the distractions.
The field was silver. There was a concert, courtesy of Steel Panther. There were also pyrotechnics, a lasern light show and a BMX demonstration. The "cheerleaders" wore bikinis and performed in metal cages in all four corners of the arena. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were in attendance.
Oh, and yes, there was football. It just wasn't the top story of the night.
The KISS have won three of their first four games, and did get the win at home, but even the players said it was all a bit over the top.
I'm surprised Vince McMahon isn't involved. It rather reminded me of the short-lived XFL.
