After 6 games in the final, and a 6-1 win in game 6, the Los Angeles Kings have done it and are your 2012 Stanley Cup Champions.To no one's surprise, Jonathan Quick is the Conn Smythe trophy winner.
I'me too busy enjoying this moment (as a Becky supporter and band waggoner) so I only want to say that I have enjoyed this final game more than I have in about twenty years.
The Kings did everything right in this game and deserve this win. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the final series, they lost games 4 and 5, and fell short of the 11 game away win streak record. However, they came back, just in time for the win at Staples Centre with our own Kteacher, Becky in attendance. I'm sure she will have pictures of her own to post tomorrow.

PS... Sutter didn't get screwed 8 years ago. In fact, he should have lifted the Cup 10 years ago...

It's amazing what a hot goalie can do in the NHL. It's like if a baseball team could have their best and hottest pitcher start every game of the post season. Good for Quick. I always felt he was an underrated goalie playing out here on the west coast and all...

I've never seen anything, in any sport, like this playoff run the Kings put together. That being said, It's too bad the Cup was such a non-contest, though dropping 2 games is the most they dropped in any series, so I guess relatively speaking this was a barn burner for LA.
