The NFL is considering expanding the postseason

Should the NFL add more playoff teams?

Adding two playoff teams would increase multiple forms of revenue. Between TV revenue, the extra gate from a couple extra games, and additional playoff merchandise, this would obviously bring in some extra money.

It would also garner increased interest from fans who now know that their teams have a better chance to make the playoffs.

But would it actually make for a better product? Do we really need additional playoff teams? Or would it water down an already somewhat weak field?

There are always a couple mediocre teams that manage to sneak into the playoffs. Do we really need two more?

Personally, I think the league should stick with what they're doing now. The playoffs are exciting and meaningful right now, and the NFL shouldn't try to tweak it too much. Why ruin a good thing?

I'm in favor of adding another team, after the 10-6 Cardinals failed to make the playoffs. The 2nd seeded team doesn't really deserve an automatic advance anyways.
