Besides mentioning the biggest NASCAR stories that are available on the big sites around the internet, there is also a great deal of NASCAR news, and racing news in general found other places as well. Here are both some of the stories making top headlines, and others that aren't, but are still enjoyable to read.
NEWS FLASH!!! Ryan Newman is going to drive for Stewart-Haas Racing in 2009!. I'm sure nobody saw this one coming. It looks like Casey Mears will be in a fourth car over at Richard Childress Racing. I wish him the best, but based on what we've seen with the best team in all of NASCAR, (Hendrick Motorsports) I don't really think we can expect much in 2009.
If you didn’t see the Dale Earnhardt, Jr. ESPN documentary special, Shifting Gears in February, it’s coming to DVD in the fall and you
can order it ahead of time. It features Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his "unprecedented move to Hendrick Motorsports." I did not see it but I'm sure it must be pretty good if ESPN made it.
Looking for a new car? You have an amazing opportunity, a 1 in 1,000 chance to win Jeff Gordon's 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo he drove in the Daytona and Talladega Cup races. You only need to put up $100 for a ticket and need to be 18 years old to have a chance. It might be cool to have (especially if it wasn't a Jeff Gordon car
) but I just don't know about the fuel mileage.

A week after Australian Marcos Ambrose had a great weekend at Watkins Glen, another Australian driver is making headlines. I'm not going to write it out, (you can click the link) but Australian driver Paul Morris was none to pleased with being voted by his peers as Australia's dirtiest and most dangerous driver. Reminds me of somebody else here in the states (rhymes with Lyle Smush).

And finally, with the Olympics in full gear, here is one writer's idea of how to incorporate NASCAR into the Olympics.
