The New York Giants need to give Victor Cruz a deserving new contract

Victor Cruz stands as a land mark in the league’s history as he is known as one of the players that have completely overdone their contract by epic proportions and this is resulted in nothing else but the New York Giants rewarding the player with a better contract.
NBC Sports writer Mike Florio reported on the new contract keeping his current season in mind by saying:
"I think I was paid, you know, relative to where I came in this year and, you know, I came in as a free agent so that’s the salary I was on, so I don’t feel like I was underpaid...I mean, I feel like after my performance this year, you know, I feel like I deserve to be paid more money at this point. But that’s something I’ll let my agents and those people take care of and I’ll just go out there and play the game."
Victor Cruz ran 1,536 yards and caught 82 passes with nine touchdowns but even this is an understatement as to be fair the New York Giants would not have won the Super Bowl without Cruz but some people even believe that they would have not even made it into the playoffs without him.
Let’s not forget to mention that this was also a 9-7 team that only got the playoff spot till the very last game of the season. Just counting the victories of the team, then Cruz ran 843 yards, caught 41 passes and scored five touchdowns.
Victor Cruz is pending the free agency of Manningham so he is still expendable so the New York Giants need to pull out their check books for the man right now.
Victor has been a very consistent player in the 2011 season and leaving out Eli Manning then he was one of the most vital players of the team. Also to be fair Manning’s would also not have been able to perform so well if it was not for Cruz backing him and the team up.
Right now Victor Cruz is making less than $500,000 which is very low for a player with his standards and worth.
When a player becomes as crucial as Cruz did to a team’s success then he deserves to be rewarded accordingly and nobody expected Cruz to perform so well with the Giants as so explains such a measly contract.
Now with the coming of the new season, new contracts need to be written up for  Victor Cruz as if the Giants want their team to play with the same ferocity that landed them the Super Bowl then they need this player in their midst.
