The New York Jets Are Finally Finuto

Rex and the Jets can take the rest of the month off -- it's over

Mandatory Credit: Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY SportsI'm a Jet fan, but I'm not one of THOSE Jet fans. I am not negative. I am not a "SOJ" fan. I hate talking bad about players, coaches, etc -- whatever. But I am a realist. It is over. The Surprise Jets have no one fooled. They are a bad football team. The once exciting team is now the worst offensive unit and their defense has holes as big as craters. This team needs help and it won't be fixed by the man in charge right now.

I have been a DIEHARD Rex fan since the day he walked in. I truly believed he was going to be "the guy". The one who would FINALLY take us to the Super Bowl. Credit to him, he got us disgustingly close. In 2009 and 2010, he had the leagues best defense; running game; offensive line and an offense that made JUST enough players. He was THAT close. But at the end of the day, they just weren't good enough.

Fast forward three years and this team hasn't gotten better ONE BIT. In fact, you can argue that besides for the defensive line, we have took a HUGE nosedive at EVERY single unit on the team. We have drafted poorly, gave out bad contracts and signed some useless players. We haven't developed anyone on the offensive side of the ball, besides MAYBE Jeremy Kerley and we still have glaring holes on defense.

For the first time in the Rex Ryan era, his team QUIT on his this afternoon. To his credit (I guess) he tried to provide his anemic offense with a spark but putting in Matt Simms at QB, but that fizzled much like the 2013 Jets season. The defense mailed it in and if they had anything to give on offense, they certainly didn't feel like giving it. That is bad.

This team needs a fresh, new, offensive-minded perspective. I don't know who and I am not going to sit here and write a recommendation for coach X, but god forbid we hire another "defensive guru" and have to sit through more boring, mediocre to bad, football. I cant take it. It has become a job, a boring job that I HATE, to watch New York Jet football. I just want to have fun again. Is that too much to ask?
