The New York Rangers are starting to put it together

The New York Rangers opened the 2013/2014 season with a very long road trip.  They played nine straight road games to open the season.  It would be tough under any circumstances but they were also getting a new head coach.  Alain Vignault was hired to take over the team and it has taken time to get used to his system.  The Rangers started off 2-7 but since then are 7-1.

I think they still have a good defense and have course the goaltending.  It isn’t all defense now though, they are an offensive team that can play defense.  If they are able to score goals it will be hard to beat them.  They even had some injuries early in the season, which they have been able to overcome so far.  Rick Nash has been out since the first few games with a head injury and Ryan Callahan the captain was out to just recently.  They also just recently got back Carl Hagelin.

The guys such as Brian Boyle, Brad Richards and Chris Kreider are playing better then they have in recent times.  These were skilled guys that just became frustrated and out of their games.  They now have it back that they are allowed the freedom to be who they are and not have to worry about being benched.

I can see the Rangers team now being a real force in the playoffs and maybe finally getting back to the Stanley Cup Finals and dare I say winning a Stanley Cup.  It was nice to end the curse in 1994 but that was a long time ago now.  I cant believe it is going on 20 years so it is time to end another long drought and bring the cup to Broadway for them.

It will be very interesting to see how good they can be, especially on offense when they get Rick Nash back.
