If the early Olympic Torch relay is any indication, we're in for one hell of an Olympics. Sunday saw the start of the Torch relay in London and naturally, it was an awesome protester-beating affair.

Police were forced to bring in reinforcements to marshal the Olympic torch relay through London after a series of protests happened along the 31-mile route by demonstrators angered at China's human rights record. More than 35 people wound up getting arrested. Some of the highlights included a protester actually grabbing the torch (in the video above) and two other people trying to put out the flame with a fire extinguisher (video below).

And don't worry, there was some sublimely ridiculous stuff as well. At several times during the day protesters threw themselves in front of the runners. An effective trick to use, if you don't mind getting your butt kicked.

The torch also hasn't had the easiest time today in Paris, getting extinguished a few times already.

By the way, I can't wait for the Olympic torch to get to San Francisco on Wednesday. If people think it's bad in London, just wait until we show them what we can do. We don't have the same docile British demeanor here in SF.

By the way, in terms of "worst possible city imaginable" to take the torch through, San Francisco has to be up there, considering we have an average of 1.7 protesters per square foot here. As far as I know, the only other city that beats us is Berkeley, where being a protester is a requirement in order to live there.

0	Also the relay runners would be attack from above by protesters in tree if they rolled through Berkley. This relay is in danger of becoming a disaster of Cop Rock proportions since the Torch is not doing any better in Paris today as it did with London.
