I worked this past weekend and got a chance to see the Pirates hook up with the Nats twice. Now, living in the the Baltimore/DC area, I have been treated to some very bad baseball. The Pirates, however, are on a new level of bad. The examples just continue to pile up and even though the play on the field is bad it is the little things connected to the team that signify how poorly the team is managed. Example: Most teams use their media guide to showcase not only the current team but the history of the franchise. They have interesting graphics printed in full color on magazine stock. Not ye ol' Buccos. Their guide is boring and printed on paper back stock. Disappointing. Additionally, line-ups for teams are usually delivered a full 3-4 hours before first pitch. The Pirates were consistently late with their information which holds all kinds of other people in the stadium up. As I was leaving the stadium, I saw a fan wearing an Irate Fan shirt with the skull and cross bones. I couldn't agree with him more. I franchise as storied as this one playing in one of the finest ball parks in the United States and their fans deserve more. Get it together Buccos. It is good for Pittsburgh and baseball.
