The Redshirt Daily: 1.23.13
I didn't watch the game Sunday, which is odd in itself, but anyway...was he or wasn't he trying to kick Ed Reed in the junk? Personally, I could see how he could make a case for incidental (almost?) contact but the fact that he called Ed Reed to apologize makes me wonder if maybe the slide wasn't at least a little bit dirty. Apparently, the NFL agreed, and fined Tom Brady $10k for the kick. Now for the most interesting news of the day: While Tom Brady was fined $10,000 for "unnecessary roughness" on a slide kick (is that what we're calling it?) that made contact with Reed's leg as he tried to jump over him, which could potentially have injured Reed, Frank Gore was fined $500 more (that makes a total of $10,500 folks - keep in mind) for wearing his socks too low in the conference championship game. Sure, because we're concerned first and foremost with player safety. Now, I'm no Niners fan, but doesn't this seem just a little bit ridiculous? Forget about the "No Fun League". I'm thinking of the NFL as "No F___ing Logic" from now on.
I was wondering how long this was going to take. Junior Seau's family is suing the NFL and Riddell for a few things, including concealing risks of head trauma and negligence, respectively. If I'm not mistaken, risks of head trauma are fairly well documented and accessible to the general public. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Seau never reported concussions? That's not to say that he never had any, but not reporting them should ultimately absolve the NFL of responsibility in that regard. I'm all for anything that holds the NFL responsible if it's legitimate. I can also get behind their suit against Riddell. However, part of this seems to be reaching. What are your thoughts?
What is with Titus Young Sr.(what's that about anyway?)? This guy might need a reality check.
We have three more months until the real NFL Draft, which means it's just about time for the Mock Drafts. Who would you like your team to pick up? What do they need?
I love tattoos, but this is a bit much, isn't it?
Wait...wasn't Dwight Howard just recently a free agent? Or asking for a trade? Now he wants another one.
Until next time!
