The Redshirt Daily: 1.29.13

1/29/13 in NFL   |   Jess   |   34415 respect

Welcome, sports fans, to another day of sports news, rumors, and opinions on FanIQ!

NFL:
It's all about overreaction right now in the NFL. I've done a fair job of staying away from the NFL media this week, due to the insane amount of Super Bowl coverage right now. I'm overreacting to the fact that San Francisco will be playing this weekend. However, there are a few clips that have just been unavoidable. First we have Randy Moss claiming to be the greatest wide receiver of all time. Wait...what? It's no secret how much I dislike Moss, but I will admit the man is good. But, greatest of all time? No, Mr. Moss. That honor belongs to someone who wore the Red & Gold long before you came along.

Blog Photo - The Redshirt Daily: FanIQ Blog Review 1/29Joe Flacco may be overreacting to the fact that his team is going to the Super Bowl in what happens to be the last year of his contract. Rumor has it that he believes he's playing better than Peyton Manning and deserves a bigger paycheck than Peyton.  What do you think?

Next up, we have an overreaction from Ravens' player Bernard Pollard over having been fined for his hit on Welker. I bet you can guess what he's complaining about. That's right; the NFL is going soft and it probably won't be around in 30 years.

Have you ever overreacted to an ex-significant other's use of a condiment? Former 49er/Raider Kwame Harris has, giving us the wonderful term "argument over soy sauce and underwear." Evidently Harris took offense to his ex-boyfriend's use of soy sauce over a plate of rice, one thing led to another, and his ex was left bloodied and bruised on a road side. You can't make this stuff up, people.

Talk about overreacting: Obama said if he had a son, he would "think long and hard" about allowing him to play football. And as you probably would expect, the crowd goes wild.

Here we go again with banned substances. Here's my take: if you suffer an injury or have mid-season surgery, shouldn't most bets be off the table when it comes to medication (besides illegal substances of course) while you're recovering? Especially if you're expected, and in most cases pressured, to be back to playing form quickly? It's almost a no-win situation. Now there are questions regarding whether or not Ray Lewis fudged a little while he recovered from triceps surgery this season.

Did you know Jamarcus Russell (you might remember him - first overall pick in the 2007 draft, QB for the Oakland Raiders) weighed 305lbs? Well, he's trying to come back. Do you think he can drop weight - and while he's at it, remember how to play ball?

MLB:
So Alex Rodriguez is juicing. No, we weren't beamed back to 2003. There are also some other surprising big names on the latest list.

That's probably enough craziness for one day. If I've left you craving more, it can be found anywhere you see "Fan Articles" in the navigation. Or just click here. Until next time!

R. Moss once again proves even though he may have been a good reciever once , he is still a complete a**munch !  Best ever Randy please indecision

Flacco wanting Manning/Brees money - ya kidding me right what a waste no

Rumors are Jets may have some interest in Russell indecision Say it aint so (has to be only rumor) ..........  Russell Big Arm - Small Brain (and even smaller work ethic) just doesn't make for a great qb. I mean you already have a guy with little to no work ethic in Sanchez and your looking to add on to that list no

Im glad to see you added a "little" MLB section smiley

I saw that about the Jets having interest - and though it's not surprising in the least, it still made me LOL
