Early this year there were reports coming out from the National Enquirer that Tom Brady was going to ask Gisele to marry him if the Pats won the Super Bowl. However, people quickly brushed off those rumors as ridiculous. But you know what, for all the crap the National Enquirer gets, they're sometimes right. Think of them as the boy who cried wolf. He may be wrong at times, but other times he's right.
And guess what. The Enquirer isn't quitting on the story either. They're now saying that the plan is still a go for Tom and Gisele to get engaged after the Super Bowl. They also say that apparently Gisele wanted to get married in Brazil, but Brady has decided on a spring wedding in Italy.
Again, I'm not sure how true these rumors are, back the fact that the Enquirer continues to hammer away at this story seems to suggest to me that there might be some validity to it.
Now the bigger question is, how will this affect Brady on the field?
It certainly didn't seem to help Romo any that his relationship with Jessica Simpson was all up in the news.
I have no idea if this'll bother Brady, but if you're basing an engagement on whether you win the Super Bowl or not, you're either incredibly arrogant or on an incredible team. Both of which happen to be true.
But that said, I'd say Sunday's game is as good a time as any for an upset. You've got a Chargers team that has literally nothing to lose and can throw a "kitchen-sink" game at the Pats. Combine that with the fact that there is incredibly bad blood between these teams, and you've got a volatile mix. And even if Rivers can't play, Volek is a more than solid backup. Remember, he played pretty well for the Titans back when he was a starter.
In my opinion, this game is going to be a lot closer than most people think.
