As we’ve announced, we’ve been hard at work developing the next generation of competition on FanIQ. We’re calling this new season of game play Season Two. The goal of Season Two is to make FanIQ’s competitions more exciting, easier to understand, and ultimately more fun for all fans.
Here are the exciting new features you can expect in Season Two later this month:
Introducing Quick Fantasy – Win Cash Daily!
We’ve often been asked why FanIQ doesn’t have Fantasy. Our belief is that the world doesn’t need another fantasy game like all the rest – long, hard to play, and frustrating (if your team sucks). Fantasy games should be quick, easy, and above all fun to play every day, so we’ve created a game with a fun new twist – instead of playing one game against the same group of friends for an entire season, you can play a new game against anyone every day! It’s Quick Fantasy, and it’s only available on FanIQ.
We also know that fantasy is a lot more fun when you can bet your opponent on the outcome of the game. So, we’re enabling Cash Games as well as rolling out a new currency called Q Bucks that you can use to wager in Fantasy. Challenge your friends head to head, and the winner takes the Cash or Q Bucks pot!
Q Bucks are earned by winning weekly trophies in games, visiting FanIQ every day, and other future activities on FanIQ . Q Bucks can be spent in our new Q Store on cool stuff for your profile and on gifts you can send to other fans. In the future, you’ll be able to use your Q Bucks to buy special powers and privileges.
A New Ranking System for Being the Top Fan of your Team
We’ve simplified how you become your favorite team’s top-ranked fan. Your team rank will now be based on just two statistics, which measure how you are contributing to your team. We will track your “Contributions” which are your submissions about your teams (comments, articles, etc.) and the “Respect” you receive for these contributions. “Respect” is Season Two’s version of thumbs up.
This new ranking system replaces the more complex “Fan Points” system for determining top fans, which today tracks over 30 types of activity.
A Better Point System with Weekly Award Winners
We’ve thought long and hard about the best way to reward our top users, and it’s become clear that our points system needs to enable new users to be competitive AND reward long-term users for their diligence and loyalty.
In Season Two, we’ll track both weekly and career rankings for FanIQ games. Weekly rankings will enable new users to compete with existing users, and career rankings will showcase long-term excellence from our most dedicated users.
While your “IQ” points accumulated in Season One will still count toward your career rankings in games like trivia, quizzes, pick’em, and polls, Season Two will not have global FanIQ rankings or levels. For the top-ranked fans from Season One, we’ll award a special “Season One All Star” badge to recognize their contributions and status.
We’re excited at launching this new and improved season of competition on FanIQ. We realize that change is always hard but we’re confident that Season Two is a big improvement. As always, your feedback and questions are welcome below. For more information about the changes,
