....or should I say: The knee that snapped?? Old news now, but a major bummer that Tiger Woods will be missing the rest of the golf season so he can have knee suegery. Golfers out for the season with a knee injury?? What gives? Apparently Tiger has had some issues with this knee since last year and I guess enough was enough. This brings up several questions/comments, but I will only ask two. First: my gosh, can you imagine what Tiger can do with healthy knees?? Second: Have we, the public, put too much presure on our star athletes to perform, no matter what, at any cost?? I know Tiger (and others like him) get paid the big bucks to do what he does. Is it worth the risk of actual life complications? Ask any old time NFL'er I suppose. Food for thought.....
In what might be a record three or four posts in one week, I will finally move past golf. Now that Tiger is done for the year, so is golf and Jared. They don't mix together well.
Baseball, Baseball. In what I would term a good move, the Seattle Mariners fired their manager today. Old time Jared and mrs. jp23 favorite Jim Rigglef*&k (Riggleman to you commoners) is the interim manager for the most underachieving baseball team of the year. Going to be interesting....
Those darn Cubs having living the charmed life as baseball's "best" team. Tampa's Rays have bedeviled the Good Guys this week. Can the Cubs gain some momentum tonight before they return home to face the hated ChiSox in Ozfest I? Will Carlos get has groove back? These and other fun storylines as the night and weekend progresses....
Life should be outstanding right now....no more hockey, no more NBA. Baseball and nothing but for a few weeks. Football is just around the corner, but except for the occasional bootleg run at your local NASCAR track or the puff of grass in jolly ole England, I'm going to root root root for the Cubbies!!
Enjoy and happy Thursday
Jp
P.S.
Be safe my brother. Hope Ecuador brings you success. Go USA!!
