Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone’s Turkey Day was fantastic and that football didn’t ruin your day in any way.Something thing that I am really thankful for year round is the NHL. It’s by far my favorite sport and the Stanley Cup is the hardest earned trophy in all of sports. One thing hockey has always lacked (and rightly so) is cheerleaders.
Think about it, the NBA, NFL, and AFL have them. College sports have them, why not the NHL? We’ll for one thing, I just can’t get into the fact that the NHL can have cheerleaders. The first time I saw them in the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals in Carolina it just didn't seem like they fit in at a hockey game. But call them Ice Girls and give them a job of skating around on the ice, and I’m all for it.
So just for you, I’m giving you the top ten Ice Girl squads from this NHL season.
Since I don’t want you to leave on a crappy note, I’m going to give it to you first. The Vancouver Canucks and Tampa Bay Lightning should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. The Smirnoff Ice Team from Canada and the Energy Team from Florida, they have guys on their squads. Not cool. Not cool at all. And just for having guys on their squads, the Canucks and Lightning have disqualified their Ice Teams from being in contention from the top ten. Don’t worry, you weren’t missing much anyways.
Now onto the Ice Girls. I'd like to say that these girls aren't ranked in any real order, but then I would be failing at my duties of bringing you the "top ten". The first few groups from Florida, Phoenix, and Nashville are all dance groups. Since they don't fall into the "Ice Girls" categories, I'll just present them first for you. Not doing so would be a crime.

I'm not digging the name of the Big Country Ice Crew from Calgary, but that doesn't stop them from coming in at number nine.
The Power Players from Orange County rank number eight.

By far the smallest group, the Goal Girls from Nashville come in at number six. Plus they have hockey sticks.
The New York Islander Ice Girls round out the top five. They even do comercials.

The Blackhawks aren't the only team doing well in Chicago. Their Ice Girls place at number four.
Would you expect anything less from Hollywood? The Metal Ice Crew out of Los Angeles are number three.
Atlanta's comes in second place, there’s just something about the blue shirts of the Blue Crew.
Finally at number one, the Dallas Ice Girls. They might have the worst team in the league this year, but they have the best Ice Girls squad. They’re so cool they went out on a boat party and came back with pictures for us.
