Everyone ( or most everyone) on this site, who has been around me when there has been any kind of poll, blog or comment made regarding BILL PARCELLS, knows that I am a coach loyalist. Loyality is very big with me, perhaps the biggest attribute one could have with my as my partner. Closely tied to honesty and passion!

I have been a fan of Duane Charles "Bill" Parcells, as he was named at birth, since 1979, when he became defensive coordinator under Ray Perkins, of the NY GIANTS. I watched him leave and return to the Giants, after a 1 year stint with the NE Patriots. I admired him as he grew the " BIG BLUE' 3-4 defense which consisted of:   Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, Harry Carson and Leonard Marshall. Growing up in Danbury Ct, we were bombarded daily with news of the NY FOOTBALL GIANTS, and their on the field, off the field antics. I was acutely aware of the drug and behavior issues LT presented to the team, but even more aware and impressed with how well Parcells curbed and controlled the behaviors. I was in awe of the way he motivated, encouraged and developed a talented offense and defense, utilizing the un-tapped talents of Phil Simms ( whom he had benched his first year - a disastrous, yet highly tutorial decison), putting his trust in back up QB Hostettler, giving the ball to a thought to be washed up RB, named Otis Anderson- who scored his 100th rushing TD in SB XXV.

Since I grew up with him as my only real mentor in the football arena, and where as most of my beloved Giants retired or went to crappy teams after Bill left the team ( retired for health reasons), I remained a sidelined fan of the Giants, with not much to cheer for .

In 1993, Parcells returned to football, to one of the worst teams in the league( the NE Patriots) bringing them to the SB within two years. As everyone knows, the Tuna went to the Jets afterwards, and wandered his way to the Cowboys before finally stopping ( for now) at the Miami Dolphins.

I have had memorablia from all 4 teams thus far, and have begun shopping for Dolphin gear. As VP of operations, I am excited to see how Bill engages the team and coaching staff to turn the worst team in the NFL around, even in one year. I am not at all worried about his capabilities and fully expect to have at least a 500 season.

With that said, and knowing that my loyalties will never waiver,  I must say that I never have felt so conflicted as when I began to remove Dallas memorablia from my home. I must confess, Bill did the impossible when he converted me from a hater to a lover of the team. And, knowing my issues with loyalty, I have decided that I can resolve this using a win- win approach, much like I did in Baseball.

(Born and raised NYY fan, bred a AZ DBACK fan, I opted for an AL and NL team.) Hence, I have decided to root for my AFC team, the MIAMI DOLPHINS, and my NFC team, The DALLAS COWBOYS! Since I looked and they do not play each other, there is no conflict of interest!

It may seem odd, it may seem unnatural. But, if you are a person who struggles with the loyalty factor, than it should all make sense. Therefore, I have decided not to resign from the "How bout dem cowboys" team, and to also join the FinFAns!!!

I can't wait for the combine!!!!
