Finally, we can have hope of seeing Anderson Silva and Jon Jones fight in an octagon. The UFC President Dana White confidently announced that the dream fight between the top two fighters is guaranteed to happen someday.

We are no stranger to bold predictions from Dana White, yet the potential fight between the Spider and Bones has been in the making for a long time.  Still, this won’t be the first time Dana White has made big teasing announcement for a fight that all UFC fans have been dreaming about.

On October 30, Dana White talked to fans in an online live chat session hosted by Metro PCS. When Dana White was questioned about the potential fight between the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champions, the former fighter had an unwavering response.

“I guarantee you Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones will absolutely happen,” Dana White said. “It's happening. It will happen.”

Dana White gave no date or venue for the fight, but he hinted that the fight would go down sooner rather than later. Given that Anderson Silva is 37 years old with a perfect record of 16-o inside the Octagon, Dana White will have to setup the fight before the legendary Brazilian calls quits.

Anderson Silva already knows that he has just a handful of fights remaining in his UFC career, therefore he would obviously want to make the count. Reportedly, Anderson Silva is in a 180-pound catchweight fight with the UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

Convincing Anderson Silva and Jon Jones to face each other will be another challenge. Both fighters have been reluctant to fight each other in the Octagon. Anderson Silva and Jon Jones have declared on numerous occasions that they have too much respect for the other to fight them in the Octagon.

That may be true, but the fact of the matter is that the winner of the fight will walk away as the greatest fighter in the history of MMA and the loser will risk losing his legendary legacy.

However, as both fighters have already accomplished their dreams there is chance of persuading them into fighting each other. The honor of becoming the greatest fighter in the history of MMA is certainly a risk worth taking.
