The new U? As in taking Miami's nickname for their very own..

The University of Southern California may not be the new "U", as they have for years sent their players on to stardom in the NFL.  This year Mark Sanchez headlines 12 Trojans invited to the NFL combine.  Sanchez along with linebackers Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga and Kaluka Maiava; defensive backs Kevin Ellison and Cary Harris; and defensive linemen Clay Matthews, Fili Moala and Kyle Moore. Wide receiver Patrick Turner and kicker David Buehler will bring their best to the combine in hopes of playing on Sundays.  If history is any measurement, these guys will surely make the University proud.

USC could be NFL Jr.  It is Los Angeles' football team, and might be a part of the reason LA has such a hard time keeping a pro team.  Miami may have taken the moniker, but USC has held the crown for years.

I agree.  The U is a joke now, Florida State is a joke now.  The only good Florida program is Florida.  I think its pretty simple math really.  If I was a top recruit, and Pete Carroll says hey do you want to play for me in LA, or play in a dump like South Bend, etc.  It makes it an easy decision.  That and the massive success the USC program has had since Carroll arrives its an easy sell.

They would not fit under the salary cap.
