Tonight we'll see an interesting game between a couple of NFC teams; a battle between two #1 overall draft picks. Their last mid-week primetime game didn't turn out so well for the Giants, after a badly played first half, though you'd never know it was a one-possession score when all was said and done. Last week, they were able to come from behind against what seems to be a fairly decent Tampa Bay team and pull out a W. How will they fare against yet another team that seems to be a relatively fair matchup?
Carolina, on the other hand, turned around and beat the Saints convincingly after losing to the Bucs in Week 1. Will they be able to make a statement with a big win over the Giants?
I think the Panthers will give the Giants a good game, but I'm going with Eli & Co. in this matchup, with another surge in the 2nd half.
What better way to spend a Thursday evening than watching football? Q it up here with us tonight!

"Pierre-Paul blew up the integrity of that play." Who talks like this? And that wasn't even Mayock!

Holy Christ, thank you for mentioning who the color guy is on this game. Believe it or not this is the first time I've got NFL Network at home (thanks James Dolan and Cablevision), and Mike Mayock is making my ears bleed. He is the worst. His commenting after a play as though he had said something was going to happen before the play is laughable. Cosell did it much better, and at least he was entertaining. Newton throws a pass and he says it was Manning. Barden catches second pass of the game and he says "Victor Cruz has caught the first two." This guy covers the waterfront of awful. He literally is the Monday Morning Quarterback Nostradamus.

(On that note, that TD drive looked simple enough)
I will slap Mayock next time we are kicking it on Clearwater beach.

Man these replacement refs are atrocious, I don't care what Mayock says, that is not pass interference.

I usually don't mind the NFL network coverage but i too could do without Eisen
Talk about a guy who looks like he has aged.

You make a great point, Ward. I wonder if it would be worth it to not start doing Thursday night games until Week 4 and schedule them so the teams with a Bye the previous week play on Thursday. Of course ideally as you noted, we wouldn't have TNF at all, but in a perfect league to appease the masses...
In other news, can't we have a NFL Network broadcast without Rich Eisen? That would be wunnerful.

I'm still not sold on this Thursday night football stuff. In an era when the NFL is supposedly concerned with the welfare of its players, three days between games does not seem near sufficient. These are by no means "off days" either. The players and coaches have only three days to heal, prepare, and practice for a major game on their schedule... because they're all major. As always, it's a money grab, and who cares about anyone else. That being said, I'll be watching.

I don't know how to feel about Cee Lo's Thursday Night Football song. I usually like him, but he's kind of annoying in this. I love the fans' part though, and the premise of the whole thing.

True, however the Panthers are lacking RB Steward and if their rookie can't do the job Cam will be passing a lot, giving the Giants ample chances for picks. :)

Under normal circumstances the Giants scare the heck outta me... They are a powerful force!...My concerns tonight are based on the number of injuries with several key players on the Giants sideline. My guess is that the Giants pull out the win in a close game.

The Giants are hurting tonight with no Bradshaw, Diehl or Nicks...
