Tim Lincecum was announced as the EA Sports MLB 2K9 cover boy a few weeks ago, and when he found out about it, he compared it to his Cy Young award that he had recently received, saying "Winning the Cy Young Award is truly an amazing honor, and now having the opportunity to be on the cover of Major League Baseball 2K9 is another dream come true and an absolutely surreal experience".
Clearly, video games have come a long way. They've fortunately even come a long way since last year, when Ryan Howard modeled the too-tight ball-laden video game gadget suits. While Lincecum looks a bit bizarre in his spandex-looking suit with the sensors that look like tiny ping pong balls all over him, but anything is better than Howard, who thankfully wears baggier clothes everywhere else.
Look out for glitches with Tiny Tim's glove, since it looked like one of the sensors fell off as he was receiving the ball after he threw the simulated pitch. I hope that's really what that was, and that there's some ridiculous glitch due to that. I probably sound like a nerd right now, but that would totally make my day.
