Tim Tebow gets the Marvel Comics treatment

As we enter the final week of the NFL season, the Tim Tebow love has reached a whole new level. The folks over at Marvel Comics have actually made him into a superhero. Seriously.

"Like the Marvel heroes who pull off last minute victories, Tim Tebow has fans around the world on the edge of their seats and believing that--in our own lives--when time is running out and all looks lost, we can dig deep inside and use our various strengths to triumph over insurmountable odds," says Bill Rosemann of Marvel Custom Solutions.

It's time for this nonsense to stop. Tim Tebow has not faced insurmountable odds. That's simply not the case. We're not talking about a guy who struggled to survive in a rough neighborhood, or who had to support his entire family by working two jobs while trying to get through high school and college.

Tim Tebow has led a charmed life. Even now, he's continuously getting a pass, despite his complete inability to actually THROW a pass.

Inability to learn how to throw like an NFL QB is not the same as "insurmountable odds." And he hasn't triumphed over those odds... because he still can't throw.

If you want to consider the Broncos' comeback wins as examples of Tebow overcoming insurmountable odds, you'd still be wrong. Let's not forget who put the team in that position to begin with. If Tebow and the Broncos offense wasn't so inept in the first 3 quarters of almost every game, there would be no need for such "heroics."

Are we ready to quit the Tebow worship yet? Or will we have to wait for next year, when he inevitably proves me right?
