New Orleans is starting to look like the Old Saints; the team that rotted the SuperDome as the Aint's.
The prohibitive favorite to win the NFC is now 0-3, 24th in total offense, Drew Brees has 7 interceptions, and now Deuce McAllister is out for the season.
So what's caused this complete 180?
My prediction Naturally my presumption that Drew Brees would rival all-time NFL passing records this season has to have had some effect. At least I had the record pace portion down. Brees might dance with the worst TD/INT ratio. We'll continue monitoring the CF curse factor.
Summer reading There's a reason why there haven't been a whole lot of repeat champions in the NFL, and why the Super Bowl runner-up just about always has a down year. NFL talk is everywhere and it's hard to get away from what the pundits are saying. The Saints must have paid a little too much attention. It's not easy, this NFL.
Momentum Football is a funny game. A dose of confidence and a couple more of positive momentum and you despite your talent you can beat anyone. Look at Boise State-Oklahoma, even the Patriots during their first SB run; some would even say the Steelers last SB would fit here. So long as you haven't completely blown the X's and O's it just comes to down to a few fortuitous bounces which seem to always fall with the team carrying all the positive momentum.
What's wrong with the Aint's? Was last season just a big fluke?
