Tito Ortiz has been talking about making a return to the ring for a while now, ever since his contract with the UFC expired following his May 24 loss to Lyoto Machida. The issue, however, has been which organization he will fight for. UFC president Dana White isn't a huge fan of Ortiz, so the idea of him returning to the UFC seems like a longshot. Ortiz was all but signed for EliteXC, but they recently folded, leaving him in limbo once again.
The latest suitor appears to be Affliction, the Donald Trump-funded shirt company-turned-promotion organization which features high quality fighters like Fedor Emelianenko and Andrei Arlovski. Tito claims that Affliction has contacted him in hopes of signing him to fight with them. The interesting thing that Tito said, however, was that if he signs with Affliction, then we will be able to see him fight for free on CBS. as of right now, no deal has been publicized between Affliction and CBS. Is this another case of Tito being Tito, or is there something in the works? We'll see shortly.
