Titus Young is a free man again after being released from jail
However, no one is currently aware of Titus Young’s whereabouts. King Bail Bond Agency, that posted Titus Young’s bond money, declined to answer any questions, while referring all queries to the player himself.
Titus Young had been in jail since last month after a series of arrests in early May.
In Orange County, Titus Young’s arrests have resulted in 11 combined charges – four felonies and seven misdemeanors. Titus Young was arrested on May 11 for burglary, attempted burglary and assault on police officers after he broke into a San Clemente, Calif., home and got into a scuffle with two officers. In a separate incident on May 4, Titus Young has also been accused of stealing candy, water and cigars from a Laguna Hills, Calif., gas station.
Titus Young faces up to 10 years in prison for those crimes. He is due to appear in court for a pre-trial stemming from the Orange County charges.
Riverside County prosecutors have charged Titus Young with trespassing. Titus Young was arrested by the police officers in that area after a DUI incident on May 5. The 23-year-old Titus Young was arrested a second time that day after he spotted scaling the fence of a car towing company in Moreno Valley, to try to retrieve his vehicle from the their tow yard. Titus Young is expected to appear in court for those charges on July 2. However, River Side County prosecutors are still undecided whether to charge Titus Young for the DUI incident as well.
Titus Young’s family had reportedly refused to bail out the player believing that it will provide him an opportunity to gather himself and seek help. Titus Young’s father previously claimed that his son is suffering from a mental illness. His high school coach E.C. Robinson claimed that Titus Young had been recently acting like a “loose cannon.”
The NFL attempted to offer Titus Young help around 18 months ago, after most NFL teams’ fears arising from the former Boise State product’s past started to come to life. The former Detroit Lions wide receiver faced multiple bans from the team, disciplinary issues and ended the 2012 season on the injured reserve (despite being healthy), before his release this February. Although the St. Louis Rams claimed Titus Young off waivers, he was released less than two weeks later.
