If 6 weeks ago I told you Todd Collins was my reasoning for picking the Washington Redskins to win the NFC, you'd have sent me to the hospital to spend a night with Britney 'for my own well-being.'
But seriously, I'm picking the Redskins to reach the NFC Championship Game and pending my medical evaluation, just might go with it to the Super Bowl.
Why? Running game + Todd Collins + No turnovers = winning. Far from an enlightening stat but the team with less turnovers won 8 of 11 playoff games last year. On last year's wild card weekend, the team with more rushing yards was 3-1 (lone loss was Dallas who essentially should have won). Collins hasn't turned the ball over yet since taking over for injured Jason Campbell, and NO ONE is running as well as Clinton Portis. Not to mention a defense which has forced turnovers during it's 4 game win streak.
You can make football real complicated, but the recipe is simple in the NFC. Run the football, don't turn it over. Forget the overall record, the Skins are actually one of the most talented teams in the NFC and will be playing well in January. Now Britney, could I have some more of those pills
