Tom Glavine Earns 300th Win, Hope You Enjoyed It ...
READ MORE:

... Because I doubt many of us will ever see this feat again.

Despite the fact it occurred against my team, I found it hard not to root for Tom Glavine and the Mets in the later innings tonight. It seemed most of those in attendance tonight felt the same way, as all the cheers coming from Wrigley were directed at Tom.

I don't want to sensationalize the moment too much, but I also want to realize what a special milestone we witnessed tonight in baseball. He was the 23rd pitcher to reach 300 wins, which by itself is extraordinarily impressive. But what I hope most people realize and appreciate about this moment is that we'll likely never see another one again. I'd put odds on it never happening again.

Chris Glavine (his wife) = new media darling.

Can't say I blame ESPN for showing her so much.  She was more more interesting than the actual game.

Agreed, she's gorgeous.

Not sure what this says --- but I had 5 texts tonight asking 1) were you at the game and 2) Tom Glavine's wife is hot.

When you break down the math, its amazing that any of these guys are able to get 300 wins.  Thats 15 20 win seasons or 20 15 win seasons.  Thats just amazing.

Truly a great accomplishment.  In a post game interview he said that he and his dad are big fans of Warren Spahn.  The old lefty Spahn was one of my faves when I was growing up in Brooklyn, NY.  His dad referred to him as ''Meat nose'' because of his proboscis. If his career had not been interrupted by WW II, he may have won 400 games in his long and great career.

Many Kudos to Tom Glavine and his great fans in NYC and everywhere.

I think you are right CF, this may be the last time we see a pitcher win 300 games.

I think there is a chance Randy Johnson might do it, but only if he is able to come back healthy, which I am not so sure is likely.
