What is going on in the SEC? It's like a crazy game of musical chairs. Per KNWA, Arkansas Sports 360 and a myriad of "sources" on message boards, Tommy Tuberville is likely to become the next head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Wha?
It's clear Tommy isn't entirely pleased in Auburn, and the fans are sending him Christmas cards but that's just the life of a football coach in the SEC. It won't be any different in Fayetteville. This would be Tommy's 3rd stop in the SEC after breaking in at Ole Miss.
We've already had Houston Nutt jump to Mississippi hours after his departure from Arkansas, now this, so who's next?
Les Miles will be announced as the next Michigan coach Monday or Tuesday, leaving open a very attractive job opening at LSU. Steve Spurrier's name will always be involved, but what about Nick Saban? Perhaps that's wild speculation on my part but I don't think he's totally enamored with Alabama. Just sayin'.
This surprises me. Although if he did grow up as a Razorback fan, I can understand why he'd take it. If I was hypothetically a coach I would leave any job to take the Badger job.
No one is allowed to speak with Tubberville about a head coaching job without the permission of Jay Jacobs (AD). According to Jacobs, that hasn't happened.
Apparently, Tubberville isn't too happy about these rumors flying around. Then again, what else would Tubberville and Saban have to talk about at midfield after the Iron Bowl? Did he ask him how to avoid these difficult questions, even with a bowl game left to play?
