Ian Rapoport is reporting that Romo underwent back surgery today, and there is zero chance that he could possibly play next week.

That means the Cowboys will have to rely on Kyle Orton in a winner-take-all game against the Eagles to determine who will win the NFC East and get the 5th seed in the NFC playoffs.

This might not even be a bad thing for the Cowboys. They tend to run the ball very well, and a few of their losses have come when they relied too heavily on the passing game and they ended up choking away a huge lead to the Packers last week thanks to their complete abandonment of the running game.

If they can focus on the run game this week, that might be their best shot to beat the Eagles anyway.
