Top 5 players in the transfer market this week Neymar tops the list
This week Neymar tops the list. The Brazilian football prodigy has created a ton of rumors during the past week. Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain top the list of clubs ready to empty their pockets for Neymar.
The other players on the list include Fernando Llorente, Demba Ba and Kevin Strootman. The surprise entry on the list is Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.
1 – Neymar
Chelsea’s Brazilian midfield duo, Oscar and Ramires have advised the Santos forward to move to London. So has Dani Alves and his Barcelona teammates.
During the summer transfer window rumors suggested Neymar had inked a premature transfer agreement with Barcelona. Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro shot down these rumors recently.
Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro also recommended Paris Saint-Germain as a new home to Neymar. In an interview this week, Neymar admitted he could move to Paris Saint-Germain.
That been said, Chelsea and Barcelona are still favorites to sign in Neymar.
2 – Demba Ba
Demba Ba is unhappy with his stay in St. James’ Park. Earlier last week, the Senegal international handed in a contract renewal request to Newcastle United, but it was dismissed.
An official statement from Newcastle United declared that the club was not in position to hand a new contract to Demba Ba and if the situation grew worse they would not hesitate in handing him over to another club.
Reportedly, Demba Ba’s £7 million buy-out clause expired in July 2012, which means rivaling clubs can steal away Newcastle United’s top goal scorer this season.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have lined up as serious contenders for Demba Ba. Rumor has it Liverpool has already put an offer on the table.
3 – Fernando Llorente
Keeping Fernando Llorente at Athletic Bilbao was not an easy task, which is why the Spanish club will be feeling rather down after a series of unfortunate incidents related to the young Spain international.
Fernando Llorente has been in bust ups with his manager Marco Bielsa and a couple of teammates. Athletic Bilbao are without a clue of how to put an end to this saga, which means they might be inclined towards end Fernando Llorente’s stay in Spain.
Top notch clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan were interested in signing Fernando Llorente last summer. Fernando Llorente’s contract with Athletic Bilbao ends in the summer of 2013, which means he will be available at a very reasonable price.
4 – Kevin Strootman
Kevin Strootman is considered to be among the best young midfield enforcers – and he is available in the market. A couple of Premier League clubs are showing interest in signing him during the summer transfer window.
With the talent of playing nearly all positions on the football field, Kevin Strootman can prove to be a real asset to any club in the world. Manchester United is showing interest in Kevin Strootman; with their manager Sir Alex Ferguson planning to turn him into the next Roy Keane at his club.
According to reports, Kevin Strootman is headed for an exit from PSV Eindhoven for £15 million during the winter transfer window.
5 – Theo Walcott
Theo Walcott is ready to commit his future to Arsenal, but only if he is considered a valuable asset to the club. According to Arsene Wenger’s definition Theo Walcott is prized possession of Arsenal, but Theo Walcott wants his manager to prove that by offering him a lucrative new contract.
Arsene Wenger has time and again told Theo Walcott that he must produce better performances to win his favor. Well, Theo Walcott has been in spectacular form as of late, but no contract has been put in front of the England international.
Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Liverpool are interested in offering Theo Walcott lucrative contracts, but the youngster hasn’t betrayed Arsenal just yet.
