A disastrous day in qualifying for tomorrows Monaco GP for Toyota, BMW, and the reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Today was a day to forget for the "Champ" Lewis Hamilton, who threw his car away in the first session of qualifying. While on a run showing a top time he braked too late for the turn downhill going in towards the Loews Hairpin, wrecking the left side of the car. That was his day wrecked. He ended up as 16th on the grid.
Toyota, and BMW are just going backwards these days, after a fairly good start to the season, they are just not progressing, and other teams are passing them by. Even Force India F1 were faster than them today, and put both their cars into Q2 session for the first time this season.
But the question remains; who can beat BrawnGP? Once again both drivers were the ones to beat, Jenson, yet again came out on top and clinched pole, while Rubens Barrichello came 3rd. Kimi Raikonnen and Ferrari are catching up, and he took the second spot on the front row.
It seems as though the Brawn cars run better with fuel on board, as their times through out the weekend so far showed how fast and stable they really are. Jenson put in a time with race fuel on board which was faster than in Q2 - where cars are normally empty - which means they weren´t running lighter than the others.
We now look forward to an exciting start to the race tomorrow.
