Here I thought I would be enjoying a summer Friday in Chicago, complete with a Cubs thrashing of the Trash Siders and a bountiful supply of TGIF cold beverages. Now I'm not sure even a Cubs victory, nor any amount of alcohol could heal these wounds.
Ana Ivanovic has been beaten at Wimbledon, and thus we will no longer be waking up to her every other morning. China's Zheng Jie, ranked 133rd in the world, defeated the current No. 1 6-1, 6-4. A sound beating, that we have to suspect was partially the result of some injury, physical or mental, as Ana spent much of the second set fighting back tears.
Communist bastards. You shall pay for this.
We'll miss you, Ana. Until the US Open...
