I picked Trevor Bayne from the NNS, not sure why, as usual...

Trevor Bayne

Trevor was born in knoxville, Tn on February 19th 1991

He has been racing since he was about 5 years old.

In the Go-Kart Series he has 3 World Championships, over 300 feature wins, 18 State & Track Championships.

In 2004, when he was 13, he started racing for the Allison Legacy Race Series, where he was the youngest rookie.

In his 2 years in the series,He won 14 times, with 19 poles and 30 top 5's

Winning the 2005 National Championship

At 15, he went into the USAR Hooter's Cup Southern Division earning top honors and Top Rookie in that Series.

In 2008, DEI, (yes, that's, Dale Earnhart Inc), signed him to its "Driver Development Program",

He competed in the Nascar Camping World East series where he had 1 win and and 7 top ten finishes. He finished 4th in the points.

In 2009 he was 2nd in the Toyota All Star Showdown, unfortunately

he lost his ride with DEI, due to cutbacks.

He made his debut in NNS driving for Jimmy Means and was subsequently picked up by Michael

Waltrip Racing to drive the No. 99

He has started all 5 races this year with 1 top 10

I agree Debi. To be honest I wouldn't even know who this kid was if I hadn't heard his name mentioned during the race a week or so ago. I have been working weekends, but I do have some pts. that watch the races and keep me informed. I happened to be in the room when Trevor's name was mentioned and thought, "who the heck is that" ?...I really need to acquaint myself with these up and coming, new, drivers...

I honestly think Trevor is a driver to watch.  Michael Waltrip might be a goofball, but he has an eye, no doubt.  Reut and Aussie  are certainly doing much better than anyone expected or predicted.  They may not have all the finishes they want all the time, but they aren't running 43rd every week either.  Remember that name, Trevor Bayne, and watch around 2012.  He'll be around, he needs more seat time, more experience and guidance, all of which he will have at MWR.
