Game: Rangers (4-4-0) @ Devils (4-1-3)
Broadcast: MSG, MSG PLUS 2
Pick: Does this one go into overtime? I hope not. I'm always rooting for the Rangers unless they're up against my Ducks, so I'm going with them tonight. Either way, this will be a fantastic game for the goalie enthusiast in me since we're likely to see Lundqvist and Brodeur go head to head. Neither team's backup is a slouch either though.
Game: Penguins (6-3-0) @ Islanders (4-3-1)
Broadcast: ROOT, MSG, PLUS
Pick: I'm inclined to pick the Penguins in this game, regardless of the fact that the Islanders are at home.
Game: Maple Leafs (4-5-0) @ Capitals (2-6-1)
Broadcast: LEAFS TV, CSN-DC
Pick: I know the Caps are having a rough time right now, but I have a feeling they eke out a win here.
Game: Kings (2-3-2) @ Blue Jackets (3-5-1)
Broadcast: FS-W, FS-O
Pick: Kings are suffering a tough Stanley Cup hangover, but I think the Blue Jackets might be a cure for that...at least tonight.
Game: Sabres (3-5-1) @ Senators (5-3-1)
Broadcast: MSG-B, SNET-E, TVA
Spotlight Game of the Night
Game: Lightning (6-2-0) @ Flyers (3-6-0)
Broadcast: RDS, TSN, NBCSN, CSN-PH
Game: Flames (1-3-2) @ Red Wings (4-3-1)
Broadcast: SNET-W, FS-D
Pick: As much as it pains me, the Flames are struggling even worse than the Kings right now and I don't see this game against the Red Wings going any better for them.
Game: Panthers (3-5-0) @ Jets (3-4-1)
Broadcast: FS-F, TSN-JETS
Pick: Panthers, just because.
Game: Predators (3-2-3) @ Blues (6-2-0)
Broadcast: FS-TN, FS-MW
Pick: The Blues are surprising me, for whatever reason. I think they pull out a win here.
Game: Blackhawks (7-0-2) @ Sharks (7-1-1)
Broadcast: NHLN-CA, CSN-CH, CSN-CA
Pick: Blackhawks fans were cheering for a Sharks loss last night in hopes that they would come in to this game tired and a bit broken. The Sharks played well last night but couldn't finish it off, suffering their first regulation loss of the season. Can they bounce back? I think they can. Will they? I see this one being a great defensive battle and won't be surprised to see it go all the way into the shootout...maybe even a few rounds.
Should we skip the video tonight? Didn't think so. I was inspired by Viktor Fasth's poke check on Patrick Marleau last night and want to share some great goalie antics again today. I think we brought you the best saves from week 1/25 last week. Today's video comes from 2/1.
