I'm sorry this is so late, but work reared its ugly head and will do so for most of the week. So I'll keep this short and sweet.
Before I get into any sports riffing, I do want to give thanks to Jim and the Fantasy Sports Matrix (www.fantasysportsmatrix.com). Not that I want to give anything away, but I had my first blog interview and I'm really excited that I had the opportunity to chat! Please check out the site; I'm sure you'll love it!
-I'm a huge Baseball fan, and I have to say, the season starting did nothing for my sports mojo. Maybe post-Madness letdown, but I'm not quite ready yet. Next week I'm in Florida for work, so I miss the true Opening Day. Thank God for internet on cell phones, or else I can't watch.
I will say this: I am a little worried about Kerry Wood as the Cubs closer. I wish they could have gone after a top flight closer. Maybe it's there and we don't realize it yet. Ryan Dumpster as the # 3 starter? Puhleaze! Although, it might look like there's some depth, especially if John Leiber starts off in the bullpen.
-Michael Beasley is probably going to turn pro. I hate to say this, because there is a small part of me that likes players to stay in school. In this instance, it's foolish. This guy is a beast! I think he'll do just fine in the NBA, as long as he syays out of trouble. I don't think this way about OJ Mayo, or some of the others. Remember- Junior (Griffey) and A-Rod did not go to college and look at their success.....
-If there is God in this world, DO NOT REINSTATE Pac Man!! This guy is a disgrace to the NFL!
-I'm looking for "guest" bloggers for next week. There's a good chance I won't be posting next week, but I do want the blog to remain active. Email me: jaredsportsriff@gmail.com. When I'm gone, it's your show. Hell, maybe people will like you better than me! Talk about anything!
Sad to say, that's it! I'm a tired puppy! Upcoming this week: A preview of the Sweet Sixteen, more Baseball talk and hopefully more!
