UCLA Lineman Underwent Brain Surgery Thursday

UCLA incoming freshman Lacy Westbrook underwent a successful surgery to mend a brain aneurysm Thursday evening, according to the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. ESPN's Peter Yoon confirmed.

Westbrook was admitted to the hospital earlier this week after collapsing during a routine jog. He is expected to make a full recovery.

At 6'4", 300 pounds, the 3-star offensive lineman is one of the Bruins' top-ranked prospects for the recruiting class of 2012. The coaches are very high on his size, strength and athleticism.

Westbrook will greyshirt this season, meaning he will not enroll into class until after the entire 2012 football campaign so that he does not have to use up a year of eligibility.
