The UFC awarded four fighters $50K a piece after its Super Bowl weekend event at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Jose Aldo retained his featherweight title in a thrilling five-round decision victory over Frankie Edgar. Both fighters received a post-fight bonus for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, which was the seventh post-fight bonus for Edgar.
Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva was awarded “Knockout of the Night” for his spectacular third-round stoppage of the heavily favored Alistair Overeem. Silva landed a barrage of vicious strikes to open the third round and stop Overeem.
Bobby Green was awarded the final post-fight bonus for his “Submission of the Night” victory over Jacob Volkmann on the undercard of the pay-per-view.
