UFC 167 Bonuses: Four Fighters Earn $50K
The outcome of the main event of UFC 167 may have ended in controversy. However, the post-fight ‘Of the Night’ bonuses were all unanimous decisions. Four men earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances during the UFC’s 20th anniversary pay-per-view card, and even though Johny Hendricks may have not left the octagon with the championship belt around his waist, he did earned an extra $50K.
Both main event participants, Georges St Pierre and Johny Hendricks, earned ‘Fight of the Night’ bonuses for their hotly contested, and debated, five-round battle to cap off the card. Welterweight fighter Tyron Woodley earned a ‘Knockout of the Night’ bonus for his brutal finish of Josh Koscheck during the first-round of their scheduled three-round fight.
And last, but not least, Donald Cerrone earned a ‘Submission of the Night’ for his submission of Evan Dunham during the UFC 167 prelims which aired on Fox Sports 1 before the pay-per-view.
