Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate compete in the second ever women's UFC fight.
The UFC’s latest event, which capped off another stellar season of the Ultimate Fighter, drew a crowd of 5,549 and a gate of over $500,000 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
The free card, which aired on Fox affiliate FX, featured four excellent matchups in Urijah Faber versus Scott Jorgensen, Cat Zingano versus Meisha Tate, Uriah Hall versus Kelvin Gasetelum and Travis Browne versus Gabriel Gonzaga.
Four fighters took home an extra $50,000 for their efforts at the end of the night thorough the Post-fight bonuses that the UFC give to its fighters after every event.
Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate received their bonuses for ‘Fight of the Night’ in their fasted-paced and hard-hitting bout. The matchup was only the second women’s fight in UFC history and drew a solid reaction from the crowd. Zingano is now expected to fight UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey later this year.
Urijah Faber earned his ‘Submission of the Night’ bonus for his fourth-round finish of Scott Jorgensen in the main-event of the night. Heavyweight Travis Browne earned a ‘Knockout of the Night’ bonus for his 71-second finish of Gabriel Gonzaga with a series of vicious elbows to the head.
