The Ultimate Fighting Championships' prelim bouts, which usually are on Fox Sports 1, are meant to showcase young up-and-coming fighters to the mixed martial arts worlds. Most of time, those fighters are making small paydays that can be as low as $5000 per fight.
It is always exciting when a prelim fighter can walk away from a card with an “Of the Night’ bonus, but for Caceres winning with two, might feel like Christmas come early (or late, since we are still in January).
“Bruce Leroy” won a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for his exciting bout with Pettis (who also won a ‘FON’ bonus), and took home another $50K for his rear-naked choke which was award “Submission of the Night”.
Donald Cerrone took home the last $50K bonus for his brutal “Knockout of the Night” finish.
