Matt Mitrione and Phillip De Fries face-off before their UFC on Fuel TV 9 matchup.

Matt Mitrione: A

Heavyweight and former Ultimate Fighter contestant Matt Mitrione looked impressive in his 19-second knockout victory over Phillip De Fries. The fight itself was nothing to get overly excited about. Mitrione is a very good heavyweight that improves every time he steps foot into the octagon, but De Fries, who is 3-3 in his last six UFC fights, never had a chance.

Brad Pickett versus Mike Easton: A

Pickett and Easton put on a show during their three-round bantamweight thriller. Both fighters ended up taking home and extra $60k for a fight-of-the-night bonus when all was said and done. Pickett earned split decision victory in a close fighter that could have gone either way.

Gegard Mousasi faces off against last minute replacement Iliar Latifi prior to his UFC debut.

Gegard Mousasi: B

Mousasi did not look spectacular in his main-event fight against late replacement Iliar Latifi. But he did do enough to bring some intrigue back into the light heavyweight division. The former Strikeforce and Dream champion fought a careful fight against the unknown Latifi, and earned himself a decision victory. Mousasi will be an interesting piece to added into the 205lb mix, and if the UFC does not reschedule the fight against Alexander Gustafsson, a future matchup against Lyoto Machida or even Shogun Hua makes perfect sense.

Ryan Couture: C+

The son of UFC legend Randy Couture received an absorbent amount of attention for relatively unknown fighter preparing to compete in his first UFC bout. But that is simply the territory that comes with having the Couture last name. Ryan looked solid for the first eight minutes of the fight as he clinched, dirty-boxed, and controlled Ross Pearson against the cage. Unfortunately the Ultimate Fighter Season Nine winner was too much for Ryan to handle. Couture is a solid fighter with potential; however he still needs time to develop without having to be thrown into the deep end of the UFC pool by facing fighters as tough and experienced as Person.
