For years, UFC president Dana White has insisted that there will never be a woman in the UFC.Gina Carano, Miesha Tate, Cyborg Santos... none were good enough and marketable enough to change White's mind.
Now, that could be changing, with the dominance of Ronda Rousey.
White says that a women's division in the UFC is 'absolutely going to happen.'
This will give the UFC a much-needed boost, since lots of fans have been disappointed with the overall quality of the recent events.
With the addition of another division, they'll have more title fights, and more available big-name fights, even if there are only a few big-name female fighters.
Rousey will obviously be the headliner, but we could also see Tate get a rematch, and possibly Marloes Coenen, who has previously lost to Santos. Sarah Kaufman is another potential candidate to make a UFC appearance at some point.
Mixed martial arts continues to grow exponentially in the United States and worldwide, and it's only a matter of time before we see women participating in the sport's biggest organization on a regular basis.
