Yes, we all know tonight's game features Trojans going up against Beavers. LOL! OMG! And I'm sure we'll see plenty of dirty headlines following the game, so feel free to just leave your best ones in the comments now.
But on a more serious level, tonight marks the beginning of what should be USC's equivalent of Sherman's march to the sea. In other words, USC burns and pillages every school in the Pac-10. Figuratively, of course.
I've always been a huge Pac-10 guy, but even I have to admit, the conference is having a down year. On paper, there isn't a single Pac-10 team that can come within 14 points of the Trojans. The Trojans are so absurdly stacked on both sides of the ball that I actually think they could hang with the Rams or Chiefs for a half. I'm being totally serious.
The problem though that USC runs into seemingly every year in the Pac-10 is that they either underestimate an opponent or someone just matches up well against them. A couple years back the Trojans didn't take UCLA seriously, and it cost them an invite to the BCS Championship. Also, for a few years Cal was the thorn in USC's side because Cal matched up well against them.
But I don't see either of those things happening to this year's squad. No one matches up well against USC and this team seems extremely motivated and almost business-like. The truth is that right now, the only team that can beat USC is USC. But don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
As of right now 98% of FanIQ is going with USC. I'm just going to assume the 2% of you who chose Oregon State simply had your finger slip while you were getting your picks in. Because NO ONE should be picking Oregon State.
Really, the only question here is will USC cover the 24.5 point spread. You better believe it.
Q it up here with everyone.
